Coach Wright is entering his 6th season as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach, where last year he help guide the 2009 team to the Southeastern District Tournament Title. In 2008 Coach Wright help guide the team to the Southeastern Regular Season District Title. Coach Wright graduated from Great Bridge High School in 1988 where he lettered in baseball and basketball. In 1992 Coach Wright graduated from Bridgewater College with a BS Degree in Physical Education. Roland played two years of varsity baseball while attending Bridgewater College. Upon graduating from Bridgewater College, Coach Wright began his coaching career by coaching the JV program at Western Branch from 1993-1997. In 1997 Roland took over the JV program at Great Bridge High. In 2003 Coach Wright rejoined the Western Branch Staff as an Assistant Varsity Coach. Coach Wright resides in Chesapeake with his wife Sarah and their three sons Joshua, Jacob and Nathan.
Aaron Bailey-Assistant Varsity Coach/Hitting Coach
Coach Bailey graduated from Churchland High School, where he played baseball and football. He then attended Crhistopher Newport University, where he played baseball on the 2001 Dixie Conference Championship team. He graduated from CNU in 2001 with a BS in History. He returned to coaching baseball at Churchland High School from 2001 to 2006. He is currently in his second year as hitting coach at Western Branch High School.
Coach Nolen graduated from Harrisburg High School in Illinois in 2000. He lettered 9 times in football, baseball, and basketball. Coach Nolen chose to forgo playing college sports though he was heavily recurited for baseball and football. Adam graduated from the University of Illnois in 2005 with a BS in Geology. While in college, Coach Nolen got his coaching career started by joining his high school coach at the University of Illinois baseball camps. Upon graduating, Coach Nolen moved to Hampton Roads where he has been an Assistant Coach at Western Branh High School for the past 2 years. Coach Nolen resides in Portsmouth with fiance' Hannah.
